Chiltern Youth Theatre Company was conceived in 2009 by Miss Sharon Byatt. Artistic Director Sharon trained at The Arts Educational Schools and has a Masters Degree in Text and Performance from RADA. She was fortunate enough to become a member of the National Youth Music Theatre Company working alongside the likes of Jude Law and Johnny Lee Miller. This experience has played an influential role in the conception of CYTC, the unique in-house theatre company at Chiltern Dance Studio.

This was a wonderful foundation for me to build on and it has stayed with me during my professional career both in theatre and film. However, the greatest reward comes from being able to pass on what I’ve learnt to the pupils of Chiltern.’

To ensure our students have an idea of the workings of auditions we invite an independent professional to cast our productions. All productions are cast solely from within Chiltern. It is inevitable that once students graduate from college they will be vying for roles against their colleagues. The Company is blessed to have Assistant Directors and Choreographers Miss Stephanie Martin and Miss Michelle Byatt who add their own special dimension to what we believe is a truly enriching experience for all those that take part.
